Information for authors
Submission Guidelines
We welcome original contributions that advance the study and conservation of architectural finishes. All submissions must meet the following criteria:
Originality: Submitted work must not have been presented or published prior to November 2027.
Relevance to AFR: Preference will be given to papers addressing issues, methods, or case studies in Architectural Finishes Research (AFR) not previously discussed at earlier AFR conferences.
Scope of Contribution: Systematic reviews, broader thematic overviews, and state-of-the-field assessments are encouraged.
Research Approaches: Studies exploring the development of historic finishes, materials, and techniques may include archival research, scientific analysis, or practical replication of historic applications. Contributions should offer new insights into historic materials, application techniques, colourmen’s practices, workshop procedures, and the technological evolution of finishes and their composition.
